NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Little SDO)
Only visible to me; Earth blocking the Sun.
Still a few more days left in my Fall Eclipse Season. Today Earth completely blocked my view of the Sun for 1 hour and 4 minutes.
Here are two views. Top row is the 304 angstrom wavelength. The first image was taken at 06:11 UT when Earth was moving in, blocking half of the Sun. The second picture was when Earth was moving out my view at 07:17 UT.
The bottom row is the 171 angstrom wavelength view. Look at that band of areas with big coronal loops extending far off the solar surface and looping back in.
The last day of the Fall Eclipse Season is September 21, 2014.
